We are seeking input from the community. That means you!

We need ideas for what the Massena, New York community needs.
Are there certain goods and services that you go elsewhere to obtain (or buy off of the Internet) because they are not locally available?
Are there certain goods and services that you go elsewhere to obtain (or buy off of the Internet) because of better price or quality compared to vendors in Massena?
What businesses or organizations is the community missing that other cities have?
Are there niche segments of the Massena community willing to patronize a new business serving them, that represent an untapped market opportunity?
If you could bring back to life pedestrian traffic in the village of Massena on Main St by putting a certain business or organization there, what business or organization would that be?
Submit your comments on this blog entry. If your idea is adopted, we will issue a press release to the papers giving you credit as the originator of the idea, and we will also you a gift certificate worth $250!!

With the economy in recession, and some companies downsizing, a lot of people are rethinking their career paths. Some people who have been employed their entire careers and deciding to take the leap into entrepreneurship. Entrepreneurship classes are booming. What they're finding is a whole host of issues they need to think about and address: location, seed capital, working capital loans, etc.
My company is currently looking for talented, passionate would-be entrepreneurs in the North Country. We're looking for people with good business ideas, and they don't have to have all the other pieces in place already.
Because we have actual concrete experience starting a successful small business in the North Country, and because we have big business corporate management experience as well, we think we can help entrepreneurs looking to start their business.
So forget about business plans, forget about loans, forget about seed capital, forget about all these things for a second.
1) Briefly describe your idea
2) Tell us about yourself and your experience
We look forward to hearing from you.
